About
Astara's footprints trace across the states: spending his childhood in North Carolina and NYC, and now based in Nashville, his sound uniquely mirrors this geographical blend. Combining the energy of NYC's house scene with the soulful depth of Nashville’s songwriting tradition, his songs trade impressions: from light and playful to dark and inquiring. In his words, "I integrate the club-facing grooves that I came to know and love in New York with the rich, narrative-driven lyricism emerging from Nashville. This fusion is at the heart of my sound.”Indeed, Astara's music sits at the nexus of vocal-driven deep house and melodic techno. He explains, “While my music is fundamentally house, the narratives in my songs are complex, interwoven with subtle nods to roots genres. The ultimate goal is something like a Rothko canvas, where suffuse arrangements of sonic color conjure emotions that elicit a deeper experience for the listener."In 2024, Astara has expanded his catalog with the rave revival single "Moonless Night" and the vocal-driven melodic techno track "Walk Through Fire," released on Grammy-nominated artist Christian Beat Hirt's label, Enormous, and supported by Nora En Pure on her global broadcast Purified Radio. Closing out 2024, Astara presents "Again" on Dubai-based label, Gahara. With more records on the horizon, Astara is poised to further solidify his standing as one of the top emerging talents among the next generation of melodic techno and house artists.
